As the <a href="https://www.thecityofarcades.com/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">City of Arcades</a>, Cardiff is home to seven beautiful Victorian and Edwardian arcades, packed with over 100 independent shops, cafes, bars and restaurants – perfect for a stylish mooch with plenty of pit stops along the way.</p>



<p>First up, fuel. Just next door, <a href="https://uncommon-ground.co.uk/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Uncommon Ground Coffee Roastery</a>, is a local favourite run by brothers, Paul and Ian Hayman, and it&#8217;s easy to see why. Be sure to order a homemade sweet treat – you won&#8217;t regret it.</p>

<p>If you&#8217;ve got a rumbling tummy after all that hard work (it&#8217;s a tough life), make a beeline for <a href="https://www.squarefair.co.uk/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Square + Fair</a>, the arcade&#8217;s cult fave sandwich spot. Seriously good foccacia stuffed with top-notch, locally sourced, seasonal ingredients – every sandwich (or soup) is a hit. Frankly we&#8217;d go just for the names – Kim Jong-yum, Smithy&#8217;s bhuna and Carb Corleone&#8230; say no more. </p>



<p>Okay, you&#8217;ll need to walk a few minutes over to Castle Arcade for this one, but it&#8217;ll be worth it, we promise. You simply have to try one of <a href="https://www.nighthawksbar.co.uk/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Nighthawks</a> incredible wine slushies – they go down far too nicely. </p>
