<p>Run clubs are having a real moment. No longer just a place to clock up miles, or training for a big race, they’ve evolved into social hubs where people come together for community, connection and a shared love of running – with the added bonus of built in cheerleaders, post-run coffees and the occasional very wholesome flirtation along the way.</p>

<p>You may already know the name Hard Lines for its cult-favourite coffee – we&#8217;re firmly fans ourselves. The Hard Lines Run Club was born during the pandemic, as a way for people to find a little, fresh air and connection at a time when everyone badly needed all three. Happily, that relaxed, welcoming energy has stuck. There’s zero pressure to be fast or ultra-fit — the whole point is getting out, moving your legs and meeting new people without feeling like you’ve accidentally signed up for Olympic trials. The club meets every Thursday at 6.30pm from the Hard Lines Café in Canton, for a sociable, easy-paced 5km-8km run.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading" id="h-girls-who-run"><a href="https://www.instagram.com/girlswhoruncdf/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Girls Who Run</a></h2>



<p>An all-female run club already sounds like our kind of thing – but Girls Who Run goes far beyond clocking up kilometres. Deeply rooted in the Cardiff community, the group has teamed up with local favourites including Refresh Juice Bar, Pudd, Haystack and Grounding with Gem, as well as charities such as Mind and CoppaFeel!, to build a community that feels empowering, supportive and safe for every woman who’s part of it. And it’s not all sweat and Strava stats either.&nbsp;Alongside runs members can also get involved in spin classes, mosaic workshops, supper clubs and floral arranging sessions — basically the sort of wholesome social calendar that makes you want to become the kind of person who owns matching activewear sets.</p>

<p>Led by Tommy Burnell –&nbsp;who&#8217;s still very much front and centre of the action, EZ.RC has been building a seriously loyal community since launching in 2023. Wednesday track sessions are ticketed, but the brilliantly Social Sundays are remain completely free, helping the club strike that sweet spot between performance-focused and genuinely welcoming. Backed by Puresport supported through Tommy’s role as an&nbsp;On&nbsp;ambassador, the club has already teamed up with names including Red Bull, Hyrox and Sports Direct – so it&#8217;s hardly surprising that they&#8217;re taking the Cardiff running scene by storm. And honestly, once you hear the words “four-day running retreat in the Canary Islands”, resistance starts to feel fairly pointless.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading" id="h-love-live-light-healing-hub"><a href="https://lovelivelighthealinghub.com/lllrunclubwaiver" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Love Live Light Healing Hub</a></h2>



<p>This weekly alcohol-free social takes place at both LLL Wellness Club in Newport and Love Live Light Healing Hub in Cardiff, bringing together wellness, community and good vibes without a hangover in sight. Founded by Tessa and Rico, LLL champions holistic health and self-care , offering everything from infrared saunas and pressotherapy to yoga classes and a conscious café, all wrapped up in a beautifully calming space designed to make your nervous system exhale a little. Drop in for a sauna session, reformer Pilates class or simply an hour of switching off — though fair warning, you may leave seriously contemplating one of LLL’s famously dreamy Greek island retreats afterwards. <p>What makes She Runs: Cardiff stand out is that it&#8217;s about far more than just running. Alongside twice-weekly runs on Wednesday evenings and Sunday mornings, the club also offers walk-to-run groups, social 5Ks, speed and hill sessions, plus trail runs — creating a genuinely welcoming space for anyone who’s ever fancied giving running a go but had absolutely no idea where to begin. And while the kilometres matter, the community matters more. Over the past five years,&nbsp;She Runs: Cardiff has built a hugely supportive community both online and off, regularly teaming up with the wider South Wales running scene through volunteering, events and charity fundraising. Warm, encouraging and refreshingly free from intimidating fitness culture, the club lives and breathes its #thejoyofrunning motto — which, frankly, makes us want to immediately buy a pastel running jacket and become outdoorsy.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading" id="h-sw7-academy"><a href="https://www.instagram.com/sw7academy/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">SW7 Academy</a></h2>



<p>Founded in 2019 by Sam and Josh – Sam Warburton that is, the former Welsh international rugby player – SW7 Academy may have begun with rugby-specific training programmes, but it&#8217;s since evolved into a fitness community designed for absolutely everyone. From athletes and busy parents to total beginners just trying to move their bodies a bit more, the focus is firmly on making fitness feel approachable rather than terrifying. Its girls-only run club, held on Monday evenings in Roath Park, Cardiff, brings together women of all ages and abilities with one very wholesome shared goal of showing up and supporting each other. And with previous sessions hosted by double Olympic medallist and former professional cyclist Becky North, there’s a healthy dose of expert coaching alongside the warm, welcoming atmosphere. Think less intimidating fitness bootcamp, more supportive run followed by a group chat full of encouragement afterwards.</p>
