Thanks to this year&#8217;s theme &#8211; <em>Round The World: Midnight Magic</em> &#8211; you’re whisked off into a dreamy world of adventure and old-school romance. As the countdown travels around the globe before finally landing back at home, expect an evening that feels suitably magical. And for dessert? Don&#8217;t even think about skipping the New Year&#8217;s Eve chocolate bombe –&nbsp;a melting chocolate dome with vanilla ice cream, Laurent-Perrier Champagne jelly, honeycomb and hot caramel sauce. Mouth watering doesn&#8217;t quite cover it. </p>

Cardiff’s Winter Wonderland stays open until 12.30am on New Year’s Eve, giving you the chance to glide gracefully (or wobble heroically) into 2026 with the whole family, and Cardiff Castle providing a pretty spectacular backdrop. Enjoy the rides, have a go at the games and refuel at the festive food stalls inside the castle walls, where you&#8217;ll find bratwurst, Yorkshire pudding wraps, chocolate-covered fruit, and all the other seasonal goodness your skates can handle.</p>

There’s free entry, a complimentary glass of wine on arrival, and a cocktail and gin list so good you may happily lose track of time. Dark, moody and atmospheric, it&#8217;s packed with cosy corners just right for a cheeky midnight smooch.</p>

<p>The legendary Nos Galan Road Races light up Mountain Ash every year, welcoming over 1,700 runners (many in full fancy dress) and a whopping 10,000 spectators. Even if you didn’t bag a race spot, it’s a brilliant spectacle to watch. Wrap up warm, grab a flask of mulled wine, and soak up the festive, high-energy atmosphere as the year quite literally races to a close.</p>
