Abby, a foster mum and biological mum to four children, launched Aria & Avery in 2024. Back then, her toddler had developed a love of accessorising, but Abby wasn’t keen on the idea of constantly buying plastic tat (a wise choice), but didn’t want to spend the earth on the other expensive jewellery that was available. Noticing that gap, and drawing on her experience as an accessories designer, the brand was born – with pieces made to last that are adventure-proof, inspired by the family’s recent move to Wales.
And they know what the fans want, too! Before they launched, they surveyed over 100 parents to find out exactly what mums want (62% like buying matching accessories with their children, but 97% were not aware of any sustainable jewellery brands), and spent the next six months designing a range of eco-friendly products that can’t be found anywhere else.
Every item is presented with a plantable wild flower seed paper heart – that attracts buzzing bees, to give you something fun to do with your little one on a stay-at-home day. The jewellery is waterproof, tarnish-free, hypoallergenic, affordable and recyclable. Phew! Plus, necklaces come with a two year colour guarantee, and quick-release magnetic clasps are offered for children’s necklaces.
The brand is based in Pontyclun, and all pieces are designed in-house – with some even being made in Wales. Products include a pampered mama gift set and birth detail dog tag necklace, to matching gold coin bracelets and positive affirmation pieces. But Abby isn’t stopping there! More small collections are in the pipeline, to also include jewellery and accessories for carers, boys and babies.
